oh, to be
a squirrel helixing a tree with you
or just to
be the tree you're helixing
up to get a better view
or just to be
the view you're helixing
the tree to get up to
now how he
licks the wound last week he got from you
from inside his cheek
his tongue pokes out and peeks at you
like you wanted it to
and can you see
his teeth through the hole you turned his cheek into?
but a squirrel is roadkill
with his guts poppin' out
and what did he want
but an acorn i kicked
into
the road?
oh so it's nobody's fault?
well that's easy for me
go tell that to his family
i got a feeling that they
might
disagree

I love the warm, natural sound of the performances: the way the vocals seem to be buried inside of the music, and the drums sound so raw and ambient. This is truly one of my favorite records. The songwriting is particularly inspiring.

I skipped my prom and instead stole a wooden cutout of Barney the Dinosaur from a yard in a neighboring village. I later returned that Barney to his home. ian1984
